FAQ

Chlorine reduction is achieved by using activated carbon or carbon block filters. The carbon absorbs the chlorine so it will need to be replaced periodically.

Viruses are best removed by radiating with UV light. Some filters can remove viruses as well depending on the micron size of the virus. Sub micron carbon filters can remove giardia and cryptosporidium.

To remove lead in drinking water the obvious choice is reverse osmosis as this removes about 98% of all heavy metals. Some carbon filters can slightly reduce lead but this is not an effective solution.

Water filters can remove dust, dirt, chemicals, microbes and heavy metals so they are very beneficial to your health. However the correct filter must be used to obtain the best result.

Water filters work in 4 ways.

1/ Collecting impurities (sediment filter)

2/ Absorbing impurities (carbon filter)

3/ Destroying impurities (UV Steriliser)

4/ Removing impurities (reverse osmosis)
